Prof.
Trinh Quan Huan, Vice Minister of Health, Director General
of Vietnam Administration of Preventive Medicine, is an
epidemiologist, has been working in preventive medicine
area for 28 years as a researcher, concurrent lecturer
of National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and
Hanoi Medical University. In 1999, he took position of
Director General of Vietnam Administration of Preventive
Medicine, guiding preventive medicine activities, directly
conducting communicable disease control and vaccine management
in the nation wide. He is also Head of Steering Committee
of National Program for Control of DF/DHF, Malaria, HIV/AIDS,
Deputy Head of National Steering Committee of Avian Influenza
in Human.
In 1995, after successful protection of Ph.D thesis
on Implementation of Poliomyelitis Eradication in Vietnam,
he has recommended concrete solutions in using of Polio
vaccine for different age groups in certain time, based
on disease progress, to save vaccines and vaccination
cost. He has been member of National Steering Committee
of Expanded Program on Immunization, Vice Chairman of
National Consultation Council for Production and Use
of Vaccines, medical Biologicals in Vietnam, Chairman
of National Council for Approving registration of Vaccines
and Biologicals in Vietnam.
Prof. Trinh Quan Huan is an expert in charge of preventive
medicine for many national organizations such as WHO,
UNICEF, UNDP, JICA, UNAIDS, FINIDA, AUSAID, EC, WB,...
He is experienced in management and research on measures
for disease control and vaccine management. He has published
more than 50 scientific documents, of those he wrote
and translated 24 books used for training and learning
in universities and for health workers at medical organizations.
