- Duke/NUS Emerging Infectious Diseases Inauguration Symposium and the 4th PDVI Asian Dengue Research Network Meeting: Disease Modeling
|

Duke University and the National University of Singapore (NUS) will be hosting an inaugural symposium to discuss strategies in combating emerging infectious disease, and will be coming up with a research agenda to develop new tools to treat, prevent and control emerging infectious diseases. The Symposium will be combined with the fourth in the series of PDVI Research Network meetings in the Asia region, and the topic of this meeting will be on disease modeling.

The PDVI Asia-Pacific Board discussed and developed a set of recommendations related to Dengue Vaccine Implementation and vaccine introduction in the Asia region.

- Ethics and Technical Meeting on Regulating Dengue Vaccines
|
| |
|
This meeting, jointly-hosted by WHO Regulatory Pathways and PDVI with organizational help from the Thai FDA addressed ethical and technical issues relevant to dengue vaccines that need to be considered by regulators who will be considering licensure of dengue vaccines. Participants included vaccine regulators from 14 dengue-endemic countries in ASEAN and from South Asia.

- PDVI America's Dengue Prevention Board

The PDVI America's Board deliberated and developed recommendations related to Dengue Vaccine Implementation, and the whole range of technical, logistical, and policy issues related to vaccine introduction in the Americas.

- The 5th PDVI Field Site Consortium Investigators Meeting
|
| |
|
This meeting assembled 27 PDVI collaborators from 10 field sites and other partner agencies to review dengue laboratory diagnostics; epidemiologic methods; and to update the partners on the work each of them is doing at their respective sites.

- The 6th PDVI Research Network Meeting
|
| |
|
The PDVI Research Network Meeting was comprised of over 70 research collaborators and partners working on PDVI-supported dengue research, primarily in the areas of diagnostics development, and basic science including: animal models; target cells; viral entry, receptors and internalization; mechanisms of pathogenesis/ enhancement; dengue virus structure/neutralization; and dengue monoclonal antibodies.
